Areas of Practice

ADHD
(Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder)
Children, Adolescents & Women

What it is:
ADHD is a neurodevelopmental difference that affects attention, impulse control, emotional regulation, and executive functioning (such as planning, organisation, working memory, and time management). While ADHD can present challenges in daily life, learning, and relationships, it is not a deficit in intelligence or ability. Rather, it reflects a different way of processing the world.

Strengths & ADHD “Superpowers”:
Individuals with ADHD often possess unique and powerful strengths, including:

  • Creativity and innovative thinking

  • High energy, enthusiasm, and passion

  • Hyperfocus on areas of interest

  • Strong intuition, empathy, and emotional depth

  • Quick problem-solving and adaptability

When these strengths are recognised, supported, and harnessed, ADHD can become a source of confidence, capability, and resilience, rather than frustration or shame.

Impact on Education, Wellbeing & Self-Esteem:

Without appropriate understanding and support,

ADHD can affect:

  • Education: Difficulties with concentration, organisation, task initiation, time management, and sustained attention—often leading to underachievement despite high ability.

  • Wellbeing: Increased stress, emotional overwhelm, anxiety, or burnout due to constant effort to “keep up.”

  • Self-Esteem & Confidence: Repeated experiences of feeling “too much,” “not enough,” or misunderstood can negatively impact self-belief and identity, particularly for children, adolescents, and women whose ADHD is often overlooked or misinterpreted.

With the right support, these patterns can shift, allowing individuals to experience success, self-trust, and emotional stability.

How I work:
I take a neuroaffirming, strengths-based approach, combining psychoeducation with practical, skills-based interventions. I help clients understand how ADHD shows up uniquely for them, while building strategies for:

  • Time management and organisation

  • Emotional regulation and impulse control

  • Executive functioning and follow-through

  • Self-esteem, self-compassion, and identity

I integrate tools from CBT, mindfulness, executive functioning coaching, and trauma-informed practice, tailoring support to the client’s age, developmental stage, and life context. For children and adolescents, I work closely with parents and caregivers to create consistent, supportive environments. For women and adults, we explore identity, masking, burnout, and self-advocacy.

My goal: is to help individuals with ADHD move from surviving to thriving—understanding their brains, embracing their strengths, and building confidence in who they are and what they’re capable of.

Anxiety & Stress

What it is: Anxiety can present as excessive worry, panic, tension, or avoidance behaviours, often affecting work, school, or relationships.

How I work: Using a combination of CBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based approaches, I help clients identify triggers, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop coping strategies, and build resilience. Sessions include practical tools for grounding, emotional regulation, and relaxation.

Depression & Low Mood

What it is:
Depression is more than feeling sad—it involves persistent low mood, loss of interest or motivation, fatigue, and difficulties functioning in daily life. It can affect energy, relationships, self-esteem, and the ability to engage with meaningful activities. While depression presents challenges, individuals living with it often have untapped strengths, including resilience, empathy, self-awareness, and a capacity for growth that can be nurtured and amplified.

How I work:
I take a holistic, strengths-based approach to supporting clients with depression. Together, we explore emotional, cognitive, and lifestyle factors that impact wellbeing, including:

  • Values and motivation: Identifying what truly matters to you and setting achievable, meaningful goals.

  • Behavioural activation: Re-engaging in activities that bring joy, purpose, and connection.

  • Social connection: Building supportive relationships and reducing isolation.

  • Physical wellbeing: Considering factors like diet, gut health, sleep, and exercise, which play a key role in mood and energy.

  • Coping strategies and emotional regulation: Developing tools to manage stress, self-criticism, and overwhelm.

Using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, mindfulness, and behavioural activation, combined with a strengths-focused perspective, I help clients recognise their capabilities and build resilience.

The goal is not only to reduce depressive symptoms but also to restore confidence, motivation, and a sense of purpose, supporting long-term mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.

Relationship & Family Challenges

Life Transitions & Feeling Lost

What it is:
Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, confusing, or directionless. Feeling stuck, unsure, or disconnected from your goals, values, or sense of purpose is a common experience, especially during life transitions, career changes, parenting challenges, or periods of personal growth. While it can feel heavy, this experience is often an opportunity to pause, reflect, and realign with what matters most.

How I work:
I take a holistic, strengths-focused approach, supporting clients to:

  • Explore values, priorities, and what truly matters to them.

  • Reconnect with motivation, self-confidence, and personal strengths.

  • Develop practical strategies and step-by-step goals to move forward.

  • Build resilience, emotional awareness, and coping skills to navigate uncertainty.

  • Consider lifestyle factors—like diet, gut health, sleep, social connection, and self-care—that impact wellbeing and energy.

Goal:
To help clients rediscover clarity, purpose, and direction, empowering them to make intentional choices, build confidence, and create a life aligned with their values and strengths. Through this process, clients often feel renewed, capable, and equipped to thrive, even in the face of uncertainty.

Parenting Support.
Raising Confident, Resilient Children

I work with parents to navigate the joys and challenges of raising children, especially in families managing ADHD, behavioural difficulties, or mental health concerns. My approach is collaborative, practical, and strengths-based, inspired by the Nurtured Heart Approach: focusing on children’s innate strengths and energy, and helping parents channel their own energy to create positive change.

I support parents with:

  • Positive behaviour management: Recognising and amplifying what your child is doing right, while guiding them gently through challenges.

  • Communication & boundaries: Building strong family connections through clear, assertive communication and consistent, nurturing boundaries.

  • Emotional support for parents: Managing stress, overwhelm, or guilt, and cultivating patience, presence, and confidence in your parenting.

  • ADHD & neurodiversity strategies: Harnessing your child’s unique strengths and energy to support focus, self-regulation, and growth.

How I work:

  • Using practical, evidence-informed strategies tailored to your child’s strengths and your family’s needs.

  • Focusing on solution-based, collaborative sessions that empower both parents and children.

  • Guiding parents to recognise and celebrate successes, redirect challenges positively, and create a structured, energised, and nurturing family environment.

My goal:
To help parents feel confident, empowered, and supported, while fostering their child’s growth, self-esteem, and ability to thrive. Together, we transform challenges into opportunities to build connection, resilience, and family harmony.
